Small boats leave the harbour twice a day, timed with the tide. In an hour you motor out past the point to the sandbanks, where the seals lie in rows and watch you as closely as you watch them.
Pups are born in winter, so a December trip is the one to remember. Wrap up: it is always colder on the water.
